THE WEAVERS' STORIES

2019 DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED

Thank you for making this event a success, check back next spring for the 2019 Weavers' Stories event date.

Red Butte Garden & Adopt-A-Native-Elder Present:
THE WEAVERS' STORIES

This will be a great opportunity to:

  • Listen to fascinating stories, as Native American Weavers talk about their lives and rugs
  • Gain knowledge of the spiritual significance of corn in many Native American cultures and how it is used in ceremonies
  • Learn about the current conditions facing many Navajo Elders

On-site demonstrations include:

  • Traditional Navajo Dancers perform from 5:30-6PM - right before the event
  • Loom Weaving Demonstrations
  • Explore the ethno-botanical ties between the Native American healing plants and many plants found in Red Butte Garden

Beautiful authentic traditional Navajo rugs and jewelry will be displayed and presented for sale.
100% of the proceeds go directly to the weavers. For many, this is the Weaver's sole means of support.
Free admission for this event only from 5:30-8PM.

Adopt-A-Native-Elder is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, non-profit charitable organization. Visit The Adopt-A-Native-Elder website.
