Inspired by nature and built with more than 450,000 LEGO® brick pieces, the Nature Connects® exhibition features 14 sculptures that represent the incredible connections that sustain life on earth. Through this exhibition, Garden guests may learn how they are personally connected to plants, how plants rely on diversity, how plants rely on pollinators, and how humans rely on the wonders of the natural world.

Sean Kenney is an artist who loves to build, especially with LEGO® bricks. Kenney is a renowned, award-winning artist and "professional kid" who has used LEGO pieces to design and create contemporary sculpture for high-profile clients, major corporations, and venues around the globe for over 10 years.
He authored eight best-selling inspirational children's books about building creations with bricks and his award-winning Nature Connects, which we are proud to present. This exhibition has been breaking attendance records around the world since 2012.
Kenney and his work have been prominently featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, PBS Arts, BBC Arts, NHK Japan, ABC World News, HGTV, ELLE, Wired, and countless more. He lives with his wife and two young children in Brooklyn, New York.
His studio builds and ships the pieces to the Garden where we have worked for over a year in advance to designate the best locations for the sculptures, preparing marketing materials, and planning programming. Once the pieces are in place, our staff will maintain the plantings and place secure fencing and interpretive signage for each piece.
