The Avett Brothers

special guest Nicole Atkins

Wednesday, July 9 at 7PM - SOLD OUT

THE AVETT BROTHERS
Genre: Folk Rock, Indie Folk, Bluegrass

The Avett Brothers music has roots in traditional folk and bluegrass, but also captures the high spirits and no-boundaries attitude of rock & roll, which is appropriate, since rock is where brothers Scott and Seth Avett first cut their teeth as musicians. The Avett Brothers genesis began in 2000, shortly after the breakup of their original band, Nemo, and with the addition of upright bassist and vocalist Bob Crawford and later, cellist Joe Kwon. Over the next several years, The Avett Brothers toured extensively and released five albums. In 2009 they were signed by American Recordings producer Rick Rubin, and since then, have achieved more commercial success starting with their label debut I And Love And You. The second, 2012’s The Carpenter peaked at #4 on the Billboard Chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best American Album in 2013. The Avett Brothers latest and third American Recordings album, the rootsy Magpie and the Dandelion, continues in that upward trajectory.
