Did you know that structurally speaking, lichens are among the most bizarre of all forms of life? That's because every lichen is actually composed of two, possibly even three, distinct species of organisms. Or were you aware that humming birds are known to gather lichens to build their nests and certain lichens were used in olden days as fabric dyes? There's probably a lot you don't know about those unassuming lichens, so join us for an informative walk through the Garden as we take a closer look at many "likeable lichens" common to our area.
