I know many of Red Butte's visitors love to visit when the wisteria is in bloom and I am here to say that the time has arrived!! The wisteria bloom is at its peak and it smells delightful.

Japanese Wisteria Wisteria floribunda 'Macrobotrys'
Spring is really here now! The lilacs are in full bloom and they smell wonderful.
If you aren't familiar with Red Butte Garden, the majority of our lilacs are located near the bottom of the Floral Walk near the entrance to the new Rose Garden. There are also a few in the Children's Garden as well as the Fragrance Garden.
Here are a few cultivars I'd like to highlight.

Syringa vulgaris 'Krasavitsa Moskvy'
The daffodils are in full bloom throughout the garden; approximately 150,000 of them!! The majority of the bulbs are located in the Four Seasons Garden and along the Floral walk, but you can also find them popping up in many other gardens.
Four Seasons Garden
Spring appears to be right around the corner! Throughout the garden
various bulbs are starting to push their leaves through the soil; some
have started blooming. Things are beginning to green up and even a few
autum crocuses couldn't wait for fall and decided to bloom now.

Galanthus nivalis Snowdrops
Snowdrops can be found throughout many of our planting beds including the Floral walk and Herb Garden.
Our new Rose Garden is in its final stages and scheduled to open this spring. Here is a wintery sneak peek to get you excited for its grand opening.

If you haven't had the chance to visit the garden this winter, now is the perfect time. The snow really brings out the colors within the garden.

Liriodendron tulipifera Dried fruit with snow
It is that time of year again! We've had our first snow storm....and second....with many more to come.

Merry Christmas.....Happy Holidays!
Well folks, it looks like fall is officially here.

Big Tooth Maple Acer grandidentatum
It seems like just yesterday that we couldn't wait for the snow to melt so we could get out and work in our gardens, and already some of us have had to break out the snowshovels. The summer just flew by.
