The B-52s
The B-52s are known for their distinctive vocals and unique New Wave sound that is a combination of dance and surf music. With hits like the 1978 single “Rock Lobster” and 1989’s “Love Shack,” the group rose to stardom, selling over twenty million albums. Their body of work is quirky, beloved, and timeless in its own way, and will surely have you on your feet in no time. Their most recent album, Funplex (2008), with its primal guitar hooks, driving drums, and unmistakable vocal style, is instantly recognizable as quintessential B-52s. Newsweek Magazine declared, “Like a sonic shot of vitamin B12, the dance floor beats, fuzzy guitar riffs, and happy, shiny lyrics keep the energy going.”

In 1973 South London, teenage friends Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook formed the band that saw them dubbed "The New Lennon and McCartney.” Over 35 years later, with their legacy intact and as vital as it has ever been, Squeeze are still touring and reminding fans worldwide just why they have left such an indelible impression on the UK’s music scene. With their fingerprints keenly felt throughout the fabric of popular music, it is only right that these songs, with their evergreen and popular sound, continue to be played and enjoyed live. The band’s 13th album, 2010’s Spot The Difference, consists entirely of new recordings of old Squeeze songs, including “Black Coffee In Bed,” “Cool For Cats,” and “Up the Junction.”
