The Colors of Spring

Don’t miss Heber City native and award-winning artist Gloria Montgomery’s fine art oil painting exhibit at the Red Butte Garden Visitor Center. This colorfully-vibrant display features floral and still-life oil paintings that take on almost mosaic qualities. Gloria’s painting centers on color, line, and design. “Oil paints have the intensity to provide the color vibration I look for and the dark edge around each color turns it into a jewel like tone.” Gloria has over 30 years of experience as an artist. Her work has been featured in the Park City Arts Festival, the Utah Arts Festival, Sundance, and the St. George Arts Festival, just to name a few. She is the proud recipient of numerous Best in Show awards. Limited edition prints will be available for sale through the Garden Giftshop. floralis – Botanical Photography by Ro Pottorff

May 21 - June 15
Visit the Red Butte Garden Visitor Center for a glimpse into the wonderful world of botanical photography as seen through the lens of local photographer Ro Pottorff. “Though my subjects vary from photo-journalism to portraiture, I always seem to find my way back to sanity through flowers and a macro lens. I am fascinated with how a macro lens can draw one in like a bee to nectar. It allows a free-spirited and unrestrained approach to seeing a familiar subject through new eyes and offers endless possibilities for dissolving the boundaries of traditionalism.” Ro’s photographic artwork will be on display and available for sale through the Garden Gift Shop. Desert or Dessert?

June 27 – July 20
Native Texan and acrylic artist Catherine Dawson records her life experiences with paint and a brush. Catherine prides herself on capturing the often un-noticed displays of shapes, light, and the unexpected colors found in nature. A visit to the vast red-rock wilderness of Southern Utah opened her eyes to the immense character of the bitter-sweet desert. The result is a collection of works portraying her experience in this seemingly daunting landscape. Limited edition prints and original works will be on display and available for sale at the Red Butte Garden Visitor Center. Regular Garden Admission – Members Free

Sticks & Stones – Dianne Adams Watercolor Exhibit

August 23 – September 14
Dianne Adams takes a naturalistic approach to her work as a watercolor artist. Sticks & Stones is a collection of remarkably life-like paintings that have a way of bringing the solace of the outdoors to indoor spaces. Dianne was drawn to the world of art at a very young age. As she experimented with different mediums, those around her noticed her talents and encouraged her to pursue a career in art. Dianne ultimately found watercolor to be her medium of choice. She fell in love with the transparency of paint on paper and it became a natural process for her. Dianne now has 20 years experience as an artist and is currently a member of the Utah Watercolor Society. All of the pieces displayed in this exhibit will be available for sale through the Garden Giftshop. Regular Garden Admission – Members Free
