This year, the most common question I have received is how to tell apart our globe thistles. Hopefully this blooming blog post will clear things up and make you an expert the next time you visit.
In case you do not know what I'm talking about, I'll fill you in. Near our Rainbird sculpture on the the Floral Walk and entrance to the Fragrance Garden are 3 different colors of Echinops; two on the east side and one on the west side of the path.
The garden is still alive with blossoms. There isn't anywhere in the garden you won't find beautiful, interesting and fragrant blossoms.
Bear's Breeches Acanthus spinosus
You can see Bear's Breeches growing in the Rose Garden on the pathway around the wedding lawn.
For those who get excited about cacti like I do, you'll be happy to know that Red Butte's cacti are in bloom!!!
To see them in all their glory, visit the Sprout House roof and flower bed across the path.

Hey! Be sure to catch our Giant Club Cactus blooming in the Visitor Center.
Well folks, I think we might be finally done with the snow and cold. Scott has beautifully planted the bed at the Visitor Center entrance with desert plants from around the world.
In between snow storms it seems like something else decides to wake up from its winter rest and show it's spring color.

Ok folks the first daffodil out of approximately 150,000 daffodils officially opened today at Red Butte Garden! How exciting is that?

Along with our 150,000 daffodils throughout the garden, we also have approximately 50,000 other spring blooming flowers. Come visit often to make sure you don't miss a single one.
