A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeanne studied art and design at the University of Utah. She received her Bachelors of Fine Art Degree in 1978. Her post-graduate work was at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. This experience had a profound influence on her. Art and Design merged into one.
Jeanne is primarily a Modernist painter depending on the subject matter and what she wishes to create. She uses only archival materials to create her fine art.
“Art at its essence makes you think and feel. When I look at a subject I often find patterns of light, color and rhythm emerging. These elements evoke emotion for the subject.”
Numerous art galleries in both Salt Lake City and Park City have exhibited her award winning art. Her work has been exhibited at the Bountiful Art Center, the Kimball Art Center, The Springville Museum of Art, The Eccles Community Art Center, the St. George Museum of Art, and the Woodbury Art Museum. Jeanne’s distinctive work is also included in many corporate, private, and public art collections, including the Utah State Capitol, Salt Lake International Airport and at the Albuquerque Museum.
Jeanne Hansen is a Signature Member of the Utah Watercolor Society. She is also a Member of Merit with the Intermountain Society of Artists.
